Last night, I went on a quest to Kmart looking for turtlenecks. Don’t judge, sometimes a man’s just gotta do what a man’s gotta do. Kmart was fresh out ( :’( ), so I decided to hit up the Warehouse instead. When I walked in, who was standing right there but one of my old high school mates!

This had the potential to get real awkward. A few weeks earlier, I’d sent him a video explaining the gospel from a handy little app called Voke. I’d asked him what he thought, and chased him up to see if he was keen to meet up to chat about it further. He said yes, but was so busy with uni we couldn’t find a time to meet up. Eventually we just decided to catch up in the holidays (which I sorta completely forgot about. Whoops).

When we met in the Warehouse, I was ready for him to be mad. The first thing that came out of his mouth though was:

“John! Let’s talk about Jesus”. I’m telling you I was completely stunned. I couldn’t believe what I’d heard!

So we talked a bit more, set a date to finally meet up, and he said he’ll bring another one of his mates as well!

But here’s what really blew my mind. Before we’ve finished talking, he said “John, can you pray for me?” When he said this, I actually thought he was joking, but he was dead serious. He even asked me what time I was planning to pray for him to make sure it happened.

After our talk, I was just like “wow God, wow”. I thank God for that awesome opportunity. Truly God works in mysterious ways! Please pray that God would keep working in his heart. I’m so keen for him to be saved!

Stories like these are pretty amazing (and happen oftener than you’d think). If you have a smartphone, why not download the free Voke app and see for yourself? With videos talking about anything and everything from the meaning of life to God Himself, Voke has got something to suit you. Send videos to your friends and chat about their ideas as they watch. If you’re someone who has no idea what to say, a handy list of discussion questions come with each video (#bless).

If you’ve ever tagged a friend in a video on Facebook, you can do this too 😉 Pray and let us know how it goes!
